I've been pretty neglectful of this blog and that's lame.
So, maybe that'll change. But no promises. Because of my commitment problems.
Recently, I've had some students say some pretty funny things to me.
Today an 8th grader said, "Miss, you're like a child in a womans body"
I wanted to deny that this was true, but I mean...I'm eating a Push-up right now. So maybe he's right.
Also, one day last week I threw my hair up in a messy bun and as I sat down to help the most adorable 6th grader (literally the only child I've ever thought was cute enough to take home, in a non-creepy way) and the first thing he said was, after straightening his face, "Miss, I didn't know it was messy hair day!". After holding his look for a few seconds, we both just busted up laughing. He was really proud of his witty comment, and I was too. Because really that's going to help him out in life a lot more than reading.
JK! Reading is important.
Also also, I've started an after-school choir and I'm really excited about it. Today was our first practice and at one point they started singing Katy Perry's Roar and I thought to myself: I am now Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act 2. And I think I already found the next Lauryn Hill, too. Win.
Other than school, I've been doing other really awesome things. Like finding a decently authentic Chinese restaurant (delicious minus the pork buns...those were kind of sad) in Denver, welcoming a brother home from his mission (two years gone fast!), seeing movies that are so bad they're good, having horrible luck with my front passenger tire, church stuff, football games, visits from friends, eating Airheads and Fundips, and sleeping sometimes.
And thus completes the autumn chapter of my life, in the year 2013.
