Gah, Finals

I hate finals. They create the worst week of the year as we students have to balance however many tests and papers, all to be completed within the short span of five days.

So I have this professor...we'll call her K. Carter. Actually, lets go with Karen C. She was a professor of mine last semester, and I enjoyed her class enough...I mean, she's not the smartest professor ever, but she's entertaining enough. On maybe the second or third class day last semester, I asked her if I could call her Karen (I refuse to call any professor any formal name-I usually give them some kind of nickname-Doc, Dawg, C-Dawg, or call them by their first name-like Bill). Karen is a younger professor, and I don't think she liked this at all. She quickly replied "No, I don't think so" and walked away. Dang. Well, I continued to call her Karen in my daily conversations, thinking one day I'd end up accidentally calling her Karen in the middle of class. Luckily, this never happened.

Turns out I had to take another class from her this semester. The Reformation in Europe. Exciting. Today was our last class and she said that we were her most favorite class ever (she said that last time too). After class I was shaking my TA's hand, expressing my sadness in the end of this class (it was fake), and I tried it again..."Dr. Carter-can I call you Karen?" Now, this semester has been a little rough compared to last semester...she's openly expressed her disappointment in my frequent conversations with other students, and has written on my papers that she wishes I would at least pretend to pay attention (which I totally do and can be proved by my grade)...but her response was surprising. "Sure Cindy, just not in class". I finally got to her. Lets just say my finals are already done...

Haha, that's funny that she told you you could call her Karen, just not in class...when you've already been doing it for 2 semesters. :) My least favorite part of finals were the papers and projects that were due...yuck! I'm glad you're done, I hope you get to come home soon! :)

Another confession

(this isn't about the same subject matter as before) A lot of the time when I meet people I feel like I know them from somewhere. A good percentage of the time I realize the only way I know them is that they resemble one of the characters on the classic board game Guess Who? Does this happen to anyone else?!?!

Recent Obsession Flair-ups

You know how there are some things that you love so much and you experience these things a ton but then after awhile they just seem to fade out? But then some time passes and you almost rediscover these things with new eyes and obsess over them again almost worse than the first time? This has recently happened to me with a few things. They include: Elton John Tater Tots Seinfeld Showering Grape Juice Thats it. PS: (Did you know?!) Thanks to Dare-bear-stare for helping me learn that my own Denver International Airport is the largest airport in the U.S. at 53 square miles! Props to Denver yet again!

Take Home Chef Wannabe

So once upon a time my friend Jeff and I made up our own little tradition. We called it "Friday Picture" and each Friday we would walk around campus and take a picture with the most awkward/awesome/unique looking individual we could find. It was something I looked forward to every week, and we would constantly surprise ourselves with the kind of people we'd see walking around BYU. A lot of weridos there. One day we decided to meander through the library to see if there was anyone extra special for our Friday Picture. Boyyy, did we find that special person! World, meet Take Home Chef Lookalike. I saw him and I couldn't believe the similarities. The striking features. The blond, pointy hair. We even found some silverware to make the photo more true to life. ( The real Curtis Stone ) Try to tell me they don't look alike. Just try. I think the best part of the story is that Jeff's girlfriend at the time (now wife) had dated Take Home Chef-a-like. And we di...
