Logic is gone

I've been trying to cut off my relationship with the one and only Dr. Pepper (and other delicious carbonated beverages) and it is hard. Difficult. But not impossible. This has resulted in some kind of horrible logic in my life. Like at the movies, I say to myself, "Ah man, I really want a Dr. Pepper....noooo I won't get it. I'll get nachos instead!" And so then I get nachos.  Probably a lot healthier than DP, right?? I've also told myself that Icees and Hi-C's are more acceptable. It's been a rough 5 days

Neglect

I've been pretty neglectful of this blog and that's lame. So, maybe that'll change.  But no promises.  Because of my commitment problems. Recently, I've had some students say some pretty funny things to me.   Today an 8th grader said, "Miss, you're like a child in a womans body" I wanted to deny that this was true, but I mean...I'm eating a Push-up right now. So maybe he's right. Also, one day last week I threw my hair up in a messy bun and as I sat down to help the most adorable 6th grader (literally the only child I've ever thought was cute enough to take home, in a non-creepy way) and the first thing he said was, after straightening his face, "Miss, I didn't know it was messy hair day!".  After holding his look for a few seconds, we both just busted up laughing.  He was really proud of his witty comment, and I was too.  Because really that's going to help him out in life a lot more than reading.   ...

Check it

So the new school year is gearing up and I've actually had to work (but we still have a week or so before students show up, thankgoodness), making the summer time officially over and real life officially starting again. Say whaaaaaat?? Anyways, somehow I ended up on this gem of an idea and I think I know my Halloween costume for the year! Inflatable Jabba the Hutt costume.  Check and check. (this is how people get boyfriends, right?)

Oh it's almost August?

Turns out I've been sucking at this whole blog thing.  It's a trend I've found recently as some of my peeps have stopped blogging as much.  Mostly, though, those people are pregnant or recently babied and I am not either of those things so I have no good excuse. Except pure laziness. Too bad this summer of fun is over in just about a week, when I'll have to return to work like a real adult.  I'm looking forward to pursuing my vocational goals but I'm also not looking forward to having to wake up earlier in the day and wearing pants on a regular basis. I seriously don't wear pants very often these days.  Too much work.  Also, its like a million degrees outside and I don't appreciate fabric when it gets that hot. My summer has also been full of movie watching.  I've gone to a lot of movies.  I want you think about what a lot of movies would be and then double it.  That's how many movies I've gone to this summer.  I also went on...
