Come What May, and Love It

"If we approach adversities wisely, our hardest times can be times of greatest growth, which in turn can lead toward times of greatest happiness. ..... "The next time you’re tempted to groan, you might try to laugh instead. It will extend your life and make the lives of all those around you more enjoyable. ..... "I know why there must be opposition in all things. Adversity, if handled correctly, can be a blessing in our lives. We can learn to love it." -Wise words from an Apostle of the Lord, Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

My Thoughts on Toleration

(D-this might be boring. Just a warning.) Tonight I was inspired and I figured why not post my feelings. I don't do it enough (unless you count lovin' football and hot boys as feelings). Here I go. I don't like any form of the word tolerate. I might even hate the word. It brings me much sadness that this word is so widely spread in today's society. Everywhere we turn there is encouragement to be tolerant of people who are different. To me, this word points out the differences rather than the similarities we have with each other as a world. I realize that at first glance toleration could be inspiring, and promote acceptance, but it seems to be only applied to those people you don't really approve of, but will put up with. It is not a good word. Dictionary.com lists the following definitions: 1. to allow the existence, presence, practice, or act of without prohibition or hindrance; permit. 2. to endure without repugnance; put up with: I can tolerate lazines...

Who Gets Married?

Apparently everyone I know. That's who. It's a good thing I LOVE WEDDINGS!!! I am so happy for my dear friends who are soon to partake in wedded bliss. Does anyone have any good ideas for awesome/unique wedding gifts that the bride and groom will remember forever? I want to start giving something that, twenty years from now, the couple can look at and remember me. I know, selfish, right? But really, its necessary. PS Guess who got a job? At Target? Me. It's a step.

Go Vote Now; It'll Make You Feel Big and Strong

Great advice, Bob. Tonight was historic, to say the least. I'm just glad that there is finally a clear winner. Leanne won Project Runway!!!!!!!!!!!!! But really... As for the debate, it was exciting. I loved loved the split screens. Best debate so far. I feel like it really showed the true colors (insert the song True Colors by Phil Collins) of the two candidates. McCain finally showed up for a debate, and despite his recent influx of degrading Obama, I was impressed with his performance. And Obama worked it. You still done good, Barack and Roll. I'm glad I'm an independent. I am. But lets be honest here. Both candidates are full of promises and claim potential for a stronger future. I don't know who to trust. I don't know what to think of anything they say. I wish that I could believe they will give us what they promise, but I am hesistant to anything they ensure will happen. I know that whoever is elected is going to be criticized and mocked like n...

That's What She Said

I want to thank The Office for celebrating the eternally funny phrase "Thats what she said". It never gets old with me. Even when it doesn't make sense. I embrace it. However, we can't forget that Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys sang a song with the same message way back in the day. It is beautiful and inspiring. BSB for life. Brian, if you're reading this, thank you for everything. PS This video is set to a variety of BSB images. I'm pretty sure I had 90% of them on my wall at some point in my youth.
