As you might be able to tell, there has been a freshening up around here.
We'll see if this truly rebirths my writing to the universe.
I've been doing a lot more writing, but I haven't been sharing it with the world quite yet. I think I've finally honed in on a personal project that I feel good about-and I think it's telling because I have actually been writing! It's like a real goal is a motivator. Who knew?
As always, a short recap of the last however many weeks or months I decide.
(Warning: this takes a gigantic detour about half-way down. Gear up, big shifter!)
April:
Moments ago, I sent THIS SONG to Moe, the LOML, and I just love the way they croon. Ah, so much emotion.
We were able to head back to Utah last weekend for the bff's wedding-Rachel looked beautiful and happy and it was the perfect day to wed. Moe really enjoyed Utah and the mountains (THE MOUNTAINS) which is always a good reminder to love the mountains. We also had the chance to hang out with the bros and went to FanX, wherein we saw Warwick of Willow fame. We then ended up at Hatch's Family Chocolate where we saw Warwick again. If you know Hatch's and Warwick this is even better than you can imagine.
Ok you know what-you don't want to know these details. You want to know what I THINK and FEEL and I'm going to give you that from now on.
---------
Listen. I'm 33 years old. I still have acne and now my knees hurt and I got lice just before/during Christmas break from a school in Brooklyn, so I'm calling this year my second puberty. Every time something happens, I blame second puberty.
Examples:
"Ah my period is going to kill me"
-Second puberty
"I vomited all over a brand new shirt because of my period"
-Second puberty
"I hope this IUD cures me...as I bleed through my pants "
-Second puberty
"I'm still tired after 7 hours of sleep"
-Second puberty
"Are my bunions coming back?"
-Second puberty
"Tying my shoe takes so much work"
-Second puberty
"Why is there hair growing there?"
-Second puberty
"NOBODY TOUCH ME"
-Second puberty
"Someone pretty please touch me?"
-Second puberty
And so on and so forth.
The older I get, the more I realize that life isn't always beautiful. Sometimes it's having your mom meticulously check your scalp for over two hours on Christmas Day while you cry because you found a crawling louse on your head that morning while opening presents.
But you want to know what IS beautiful? The fact that my mom did that for me. She's the best.
While there are countless examples of second puberty in terms of physical growth, 33 has also provided me with emotional, mental, and spiritual growing pains. Allowing myself to accept and relish in my imperfections and be gracious with myself and others has been my priority. Because, and I'm going to get a little Jesus on you for a minute, because we are designed to be imperfect on this earth. We were never meant to be perfect here. It's an impossible task. So I've decided to live in my imperfections. It's cozy now.
We'll see if this truly rebirths my writing to the universe.

We also went to In-N-Out, another Moe first, but I don't think he'd love me sharing the pic I made him take with me in the flimsy, yet stylish, hat.
